# Getting the school's notifications on your phone

Hear from the school the moment it matters. You will install your child’s school as an app on your phone, and turn its notifications on.

## Step by step

### 1. The school’s website

Open your school’s website — its own address, like brightfuture dot h t t dot school. On a phone, an Install our app button appears near the top.

### 2. Install

Press it, and confirm. The school is added to your home screen and opens like any other app, full screen, with its own icon. On an iPhone, the button shows how: Share, then Add to Home Screen.

### 3. Turn notifications on

Open the app and sign in. On your dashboard, Get told when something happens has a Turn on button. Press it, and choose Allow when your phone asks.

### 4. What you will get

From then on, urgent notices, reminders and news from the school arrive on your lock screen, even when the app is closed. Turn off is on the same card, at any time.

### 5. Everything sent

Notifications, in the menu, lists what the school has sent you, newest first, so a message you swiped away is never lost.
