# The timetable generator

A whole week, with no clashes, in seconds. You will generate the school’s timetable: no teacher in two places at once, and no class with two lessons at the same time.

## Step by step

### 1. Timetable

Choose Timetable from the menu. It works in three steps, from the top.

### 2. The school day

First, the school day: when each lesson starts and ends, and the breaks. A standard Monday-to-Friday day with eight lessons is one press away, and you can change it to fit your school.

### 3. Lessons a week

Second, how many lessons a week each subject gets, class by class. The subjects and their teachers come from the Results page. The total beside each class turns red if it is more than the week holds.

### 4. Change a number

Change a number — Mathematics in J S S 1 gets five lessons — and press Save.

### 5. Generate

Third, press Generate. In seconds you have a full week. Nothing is saved yet — it only shows you what it would do.

### 6. What it could not place

Anything it could not fit is listed in plain words — a teacher with too many lessons, or a class with more lessons than periods — so you know exactly what to change.

### 7. Apply

When you are happy, press Apply. The timetable is saved, and teachers, pupils and parents can all see it.

### 8. The week

The week shows each class’s timetable, lesson by lesson, with its teacher. Pick a class to see theirs.
