Scan in at the gate. The register is marked, and parents are told. You will print ID cards for a class, scan pupils in and out at the gate, and see who has arrived.
Step by step
1Switch it on
First, in Settings, under Modules, switch on Pupil clock-in and ID cards.
2The rules
Open Pupil clock-in, and the Settings tab. Arriving after eight is late. Parents are told on their phones, free, and an arrival marks the class register. A teacher’s own mark is never overwritten.
3ID cards
In ID cards, choose a class. Every pupil’s card is here, with a code that cannot be forged. Print the whole class on plain card, two cards per row.
4Lost card
If a card is lost, press New card under it. The old card stops working at the gate at once, so a found or borrowed card cannot be used.
5The gate
At the gate, open the Gate tab on a phone or tablet, and choose Arriving. Scan the card with the camera, or with a handheld scanner, which types the code for you.
6Arrived
The pupil’s photo and name fill the screen, so you can check the face against the card. They are clocked in, and their parents get a notification.
7Forgot the card
Forgot the card? Type the admission number and press Enter.
8Leaving
At home time, choose Leaving and scan again. The last scan is the time the pupil left.
9Today
The Today tab shows every class: who has arrived, who was late, who has gone home, and who is not in yet. Open a class to see the names.
